1986 Honda 250sx peoblem, help!

When cranking the engine, there is no spark coming from mag to the ignition box. The service manual is currently downloading, but I figured I should ask you guys as well.

Any suggestions? We aren't sure what it could be, so any help is greatly appreciated.

Well, we went to a power sports store in town and they said probably the stator and that it isn't the coil. So we are probably bringing it up there to have them look at it.

You could use a VOM and start troubleshooting from the stator on down. You could save a lot of money for the labor that shop will charge you.

I swapped out a coil and cdi from my other trike that runs and still no spark. The stator is $294 according to the shop plus installation. I'm looking for that part now.

There also discontinued from Honda the last I knew. I have 2 of these that have bad stators, so if you find a whole stash of them cheap let me know. lol

Ha, I will let you know Howdy. They sure are expensive, we were looking at about $200-$300 for one, which is pretty steep.
