What about using the main and lay shaft of the XR trans in plaace of the X Trans. Would just those two item make the conversion. I have tried to look for a write up on here and there doesn't seem to be one. On a side note I had seen a forum where guys are saying that the 200x cannot beat a blaster. What do you guys think? Personally no one I have ever raced on my 84 200x has ever beat me with a Blaster.

I am also working on building a better 200x motor with a custom cam and bigger piston. So far with just a pipe I top out at 54 miles an hour in 4th gear. I have a radar gun to prove this. I am working on a site that I am going to dedicate to ATV performance as I do certain mods. Right now it is going to be all on my 84 200x and my friends 250sx. We are going to put video on there showing the speeds of different modifications we are attempting.

If there is anyone that has done the 6 speed conversion and would like to share what XR parts are needed I would greatly appreciate it. Shipping costs of buying a whole bottom end on ebay are making me shy out on buying the whole bottom end right now. But if I have to I am going to do a write up for my web site when I do it.

I also have a plan where I can get a 200x to go over 100mph!!!!

100 mph? what you gonna do stick a bike motor in it, mine is geared preety high and If it was any higher it wouldnt have enough power to push it around, plus mine is cammed, has a high comp piston, supertrapp pipe and somemore small things hear and there

If the 250 were a four stroke engine you could. If you were to build a streamliner and build the 200x motor right you could get about 214 mph. LSR is a great resource for making motors do more than you think they should. I am guessing that the 200x with the right mods will do just fine getting the trike above 100mph. I am actually suprised that no one has done it yet.

edog share with us your plan for your 200x to do over 100mph. I am interested to see what your aproach is. I am going to see where I can get with the bike on pump gas first. Then I am going to go all out a high compression motor with Nitrous and Methanol. Of course the head will have the secret sauce. I have ordered a special cam profile to work with the Nitrous and Methanol combination and a port and polish on valves that are oversized by 2mm.

i say your wrong,
i bet if i ran a turbo with fuel injection and if needed a small shot of nitrous i could make it past 100 mpr.

well good for you but if you would have read the statement correctly edog simply stated that HE, EDOG, will never make a 200x go over 100MPH.

the 6 speed conversion is easy. buy a complete xr200 engine. swap the 200x kicker into the xr bottom and put the 200x sides on. you are all done. you will hae to split the center cases to install the 200x kicker.

A wet Nitrous system is not all that hard to do. With a little fab work to put in a battery and a progressive nitrous controller you could do a 25hp shot of it. I have done my research on this and it will work. With a better valve train you can also get more revs out of it. I would also wonder if a turbo would really work since the exhaust velocity doesn't seem very strong. I think a turbo would create too much back pressure to have any great value. This might be a case where a electric turbo could work well. Just some thoughts on that.

electric turbo = scam. they don't work. and the one that does work is so expensive and takes so many amps to run it, there is no way we could make it work on a trike. there are small turbos that the 200x could spool. even if you only pull 6psi out of the turbo thats way more power then you could get NA.
Worst case you could use like a 5hp shot of nitrous to spool the turbo up.

can a blaster beat a 200x? answer is simple as, YES!!!! been there, done that, over and over again. not much i wont race with my blaster. as for a 200x topping 100 mph, dont see it happening but anything is possible, so i wont say it cant be done.
