looks exactly like mine, when I bought it the seller told me it was an old CT but then my engine tuner and another racer told me it may most likely be a OLD dg.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong here, but I have been around for a while, and I don't ever remember DG ever making a sectional pipe.

I don't think yours is the same Syko. From the angle of the picture, your pipe has a less of an extreme bend at the top. Yours seems to curve smoothly while his has that sharp 90 degree angle to it.

true... good call. but they still are similair as the front portion is stamped and the middle to rear portion is sectional, could be the same comapany just differnt pipes.

haha that's the one.. that particular model you have posted there kinda reminds of the PT pipes.. This sectional chamber is very tall and think throughout the mid and base sections. It gives a very deep rumble, I've heard mine next to a PT piped 250r and it didn't have the sme sound at all. Try it and you tell me what you think of it haha I know for a fact I love mine!

Here's some pics of one of the sectionals that came with my R's. Not sure of the make, sounds good, doesn't seem to have a kick in the pants range to it , just good across the whole range. I'll post some pics of my other ones as soon as I get them cleaned this weekend.

When I bought the pipe with the smaller mid-section the guy told me it was a DG. I thought he just didn't know really what it was until recently when this thread started. The larger of the two pipes had a lower frame bracket that is broken off and have yet to figure out who made it.

sykolincoln, your pipe is more likely a ct than the one chrome one first posted. I have a few sectional pipes, here is a pic of a ct pipe

http://www.fototime.com/{C6741145-4394-407E-9A39-D1F644483841}/picture.JPG

you can always tell ct's because they had a far larger stamped out section than other pipes, as you can see the stamped portion continues even part of the way up the side of the expansion chamber, where other pipes are sectional closer on down to where the bottom bend is. The coolest pipes in my opinion are the ones such as the klemm's or the selvy's etc that were sectional all the way to the exhaust flange, alot of work went into those puppies. The ct pipe is a good mid to topend power pipe, here is the one I've got on my R flattracker now http://webpages.charter.net/willchilds/pipe.jpg you can see in the pic of it mounted http://webpages.charter.net/willchilds/flattracker.jpg that the top bend of it sits really low, the expansion chamber also is fat and sticks out where you nearly hit it kickstarting the bike, this pipe hits right off the bottom it's definately a low end pipe. Anyone ever seen any of these? This is a two piece lrd adjustable R pipe, stamped but pretty cool has a huge expansion chamber.

Well the pipe I'm referring to as being a ct is the pipe in the first pic I posted. I know the pipe mounted on my bike in the toher pic is not a ct. It's totally different in alot of ways. I've never mounted the ct pipe so I don't know how it fits or doesn't fit, Not sure if the one on your bike is a ct or not coudnlt' see it real good in the pic etc.

Yes...Crotch Rocket Factory. Very rare, I seen one for a Tri-Z one time. Supposedly the only one that could compete with Harry Klemms pipe.

Heres an LRD pipe for a Z.

Very nice LRD tri-z pipe. Where did you score that. Brand new pipe and silencer combo. Sweet, and most importantly, eye candy you don't see very often. Now i'm jealous!!

I got that LRD pipe from Power Pros, which is the pipe manufacturer for probably 95% of the shops out there. The shops come up with the pipe design, and then contract out to Power Pros in most cases because they have the equipment and ability to build the pipes on a mass scale. Mine is the last one made, ever. I wish I could remember the guys name, but he said when mine came out of the jig it was scrapped. Its been on my Z for a couple years now, I need to get it off and clean it up some as it had started to rust pretty bad around the front section.

Heres another pipe you guys might like to see. Its made by Jolly Moto in Italy and is for a CR500. They cost about $1200, but if you look at the cone shaping and bends in it, you can see how smooth and rounded everything is. There are no corners are angles on it anywhere.

Good god that thing is beautiful! Is it for a cr 500 bike or is it for a trike conversion? Is it clear coated? Or do you just not use it?
