Did you ever figure out what puller you need for the flywheel? I haven't had mine off and I'd like to take a look at the timing and coils if I could get it off easy. Chris

Any automotive 3 point puller will do.

Same puller I have, cheap as dirt but works good. Careful not to screw the bolts too deep into the flywheel or you could damage the stator coils.

I know that puller, it's a harmonic balancer automotive puller. Easy to get, I'll pick one up next time I go to the parts store. Thanks, Chris

The kx flywheel may need a different puller to remove it. I used my regular old 27mmx1.0 LH internal puller on mine('85)...

Remember when installing flywheel on end of crank, you need a good tight fit so taper between both surfaces bites. Whenever installing any tapered motorcycle type flywheel to lap the two pieces together a few good times with valve lapping compound. Put compound on end of crank without key and rotate balancer back and forth many times and look for a total contact patch on both pieces. Do this as many times as necessary wipe off good and clean and put key in groove and install dry. Use a bit of locktite on bolt as well. In the past flywheels have come loose on me and sheared key and sounds like you threw a rod. Since lapping them in iv'e never had a problem.
