Well in the past the way I have measured spark is to trick my son into holding onto the spark plug wire :naughty: if he jumped it ment I had good spark lol. I know there has to be a more precise way of doing it and if so what should it be on a 84 200s.

Well there is are afew ways. You could have your son put his tongue in the spark plug cap and measure how high he jumps!!! But thats not that accurate. I've seen an old analog set up that had two brass pins that simulated the center electrode and the ground strap. They hooked up to a an analog meter that measures voltage and you could adjust the gap and find a happy medium.
But I think you would be fine with a good blue-white spark.
You can ground the plug out on the head and turn it over and see the spark.
