ok currently im running stock gearing on my 85 350x, 13 tooth and 40tooth sprockets, i am running 22x11x9 maxxis razr 2 tires, and im thinking i want to get a little more low end and sacrifice some top end, i understand going to 20 in tires would do this but i dont want to go with the smaller tires, the type of riding i do the stock sized 22's work great. but everywhere i look for sprockets they dont offer any rear sprockets for the 350x over 40 tooth, and i dont wanna go with a 14 tooth front. so what im asking is i would like to try a 42 tooth and see if that works better for me, but i need to know what sprocket off of another application will work on my 350? please help me asap, and also if i went to a 42 tooth would i have to change the length of my chain which is 520x90??? thanks

I'm not sure where you can get a sprocket but if you go to a 14 front you are going the wrong way. Something Tim sr. shared with me about gearing 1 tooth on the front is like 3 1/2 teeth on the rear. What kind of riding are you doing that needs more low end on a 350x?

i have 12 tooth on my 350x and ended up throwign a few more lbs of air in the rear tires, sacrifice just a bit fo ride quality for a better gear ratio thats moere tight woods friendly.

worst part about a smaller sprocket on the front is it will make your engine rev higher which is somewhat bad i would think. dang it i was hoping someone would know more about this situation., but it seems most of you guys like em geared a little high with 20 in tires for dune riding and such but i dont do that so that wont work, we have put 20 in and 18 in tires on trikes and quads here at home and they dont work worth a hoot for our riding style, the 20s work good on quads but not trikes, IMO (im not bashing people who run 20's on trikes so lets not start that nonsense please) my friend has a i think a 46 rear sproket on his 85 350x cuz he runs 22x12.5x9 vampires on it, ill get some pics it looks sweet, but hard on clutch im sure, ill have to talk to him too see where he got that sproket, i dont want that big of one but he might know where to look.
