I am currently trying to get my hands on a 200x swing arm and extend it. I will take it to a local metal worker that con do anything with metal. The problem is I need picts to show him what I need. (thats where you guys come in;) )

I have a 1985 200X and I would like to extend it 3" (unless you tell me that 3" is a bad lenght). I would like to make it adjustable in height, if possible and I would like to know also if it possible to use a different swingarm (250R :wondering ).

Please show me what you have done in the past and even if you bought a swingarm that would be fine. I JUST NEED PICTS.

THANK YOU IN ADVANCE!!:beer

I don't know, why not 3 inches. I would like the longer look and I need a little more lenght for what I will be doing to the machine. (engine mods):naughty:

Extended swing arms are for drag racing and hill climbing. What are you doing to the 200X to keep the front from coming off the ground?Extended swing arms are not for trail riding.

yeah... what edog said.. 2 inches would keep it semi-trail friendly and still keep the nose down to some extent...

u extended my 86 200x one i did it infront of the shock mount. i would say 2inches at the max to keep it still very turnable if you like to ride where ever.

i had a +2" swinger on a modded 200x. it was way fun. wheelies were still a breeze and the bike is so small that you will not notice it on the trails.

if you do extend the swinger do it BETWEEN the shock mount and rear axle.

This sounds like what I would like. With that i'm doing to the motor this should work OK. I ride alot of MMR's and a few trails but mostly straight running. I would like it for a little better ride and the stability.

Do you have any picts. of the X even if they are poor or old?

Also the extension I was thinking of doing whould be make just the way you described with the exception of a little adjusting for height.:Bounce

Check out this thread. There's some info and pics about how I extended my swingarm. I've done a couple this way and it's got to be the easiest and best way to extend a 200x swingarm.
