are there any performance ignition upgrades besides stock stuff for the ignition? I mean like coils, wires, boxes, etc? Inparticular for the tri-z or ytm 200? Probably wouldn't make much diference but every little bit helps

I know a guy that put a msd ignition and coil on a twin (honda i think) it only ran on 1 cylinder while it was hooked up but that one cylinder ran the bike better than the when both cylinders were firing.

i thought i saw an upgraded coil on denniskirk for the ytm 200 but didn't see anything for the tri-z. Didn't know if there are other oem type coils that are better yet still compatible? or just stick with the stock one and be happy with it :wondering

You might get a little more zap by using a coil for a snowmobile..........
It's been done before. I assume the YTM has CDI ignition( I know the Z does).
If you go that route, make sure the coil you use is for CDI ignition. The coils used in a points system have a different resistance.
