my manuall says that the 200x has
18 ps(what ever that PS means) @ 8000 rpm(horsepower rating)
with a 164 psi compression.
if my compression is like 60-70 psi more what would the hp be.or would it not change?
if that doesn't change the hp rating, what will it do for the machine?
what all does higher compression do for you?

18PS is 18 metric horsepower. The conversion to standard horsepower is 17.8.

How are you getting 220+ psi compression?

ancient chinese secret

first I bought a racing piston kit from team factory racing out of mi.
took the jug to s bore shop and told them i only wanted .???(secret) piston/wall cleaance.instead of .004 like the book says.
then i sent the piston to a shop and had them machine the compression grooves to hold ???(another secret) bought another set of rings, high comp gasket set.
when i put it together i was getting around 218 psi comp.
didn't get to run it much cause the valves were toasted, waiting on the head now.hope to be ready for the trails and drags at trikefest.

Give it more power and speed.. 8)

What do you mean you had them machine the "compression" grooves? If you bought a "racing" piston kit, probably 12:1, you'll have more compression anyway. Just trying to figure out what kind of machining you had done.

Hey catfishwhisker, just wondering, what good does a 200x TC dual plug head do? Thanx.

Actually, the other plug won't help you that much. It just does a little better job of burning the fuel. Kinda like having a hotter ignition on it. More spark means better fuel burning in the combustion chamber. Why....do you know where one is? LOL.

well lets just put it this way with what i did there is no blow by at all!!!
machine the groove twice the size it is stock...then double up on the rings, yes 2 rings per groove then just make sure the two in each groove aren't lined up(the gap) and make sure the 2 sets aren't lined up with each other ...and there you have it!!!
i got the idea from some old school short track racers,a long time ago,the first thing i tried it in was a b&s 5 horse on a racing gokart...only prob was it blew headgaskets very often.(the head gasket i'm useing in the x is designed for high comp so i might be ok)...i'm hopong anyway.

i still haven't got a answer yet what does the high comp.do for the hp?
and will it be a noticeable noticable?

oops i missed yamaha's post .
wil it be noticeable?

Hmmmm...don't know about that little trick. I'm not saying it won't work, but seems a little iffy to me. And on the extra compression, yes you'll be able to tell a difference in power, but if you have as much as you say, your gonna need to run racing fuel. Sure don't need any detonation. Hope it works for ya, but let us know if she blows....lol.

running alky or cam 2 for fuel :!: :!: anything over 107 octaine will work
