I found a 250r roller today at swap meet . Would this front end fit on my 250sx? It has all the wheels and tires. Guy wants 150. Good deal? Thanks

I just finished doing that swap. I used a 84 250R front end. The triple clamps will not fit unless you can find roller cage bearings and races to replace the 250sx ball bearings. also you would have to change the frame stops unless you want a dented gas tank. I used the 250sx trees and the 250R forks, hub and wheel. The forks are .075 in. larger Dia. so I had a machine shop bore them out. It's about 2 hours shop time. You'll also have to make a couple spacers for the axle, one was .375 and the other was 1.500. I used PVC pipe for the time being. If you want front disc brakes, you will need a couple spacers for that too. I like the look of the stouter looking front end and it was worth the trouble to me. Most people use the 200X forks because they slid right in the 250sx trees.

if it is a water cooler R take the whole front end, dont try to just swap forks. Easiest is the entire '85 or '86 R front end or the 200x front end

200X, 250R, 350X They all fit the SX headtube. 200X is the most popular because it enhances the stock SX suspension and handling. The other front ends are a bit taller and give the SX a chopper like feel.
Steering stops will need to be fabricated onto the SX frame.
