View Full Version : who can decode two tecate frames for me?

well i got two parts bikes witch i think are 85's but just wanted to be sure.

the first bike frame # is JKAXTMA19FB512528

the second bike is JKAXTMA11FR510966

I might be selling them or parting them and it would probly help to know what i have haha.

hey, the tenth digit is the year, they are both the same.

f stands for the year?

yeah the 10th letter on most applications, pretty sure Yamaha doesn't follow this procedure...and a few others
A=1980 But there was a couple letters were not used because they could b changed or miss read, i'm not sure but think one of them is Q not sure about the other

F Is a 85 there both 85's All makes follow that code except early polaris (witch they did switch over to) and the early US 90's and a few more of the pre 80 machines

Yup your correct i looked a little closer and you can barley make out the bottom line on the B but it is there.

hey here is an easy way to know what any kawasaki is by vin # . just go to www.kawasaki.com then follow the link for owners page then to recal info and put in the vin # it will tell you what it is and when the waranty ran out, take off 6 months and you will know when it was bought. i ran both of yours threw and they are as we all figured 85's 1st ones waranty ran out on 4-02-86 2nd one on
7-26-86.
