Well I saw a post by Louis (LonesomeZ) about 3 trikes in East Tn that were getting ready to head to the crusher. Well I somehow convinced my wife that this was a needed trip for some R&R and just happen to pick up some trikes too haha. Well after well over 1200 miles, a weekend at the smokey mountains seeing all sorts of cool wild life, and seeing an old buddy in Townsend TN, we made it back.
Was it worth it you ask, well the misses and I had a great time. I paid too much I think 500$ but I do enjoy a challenge. These suckers are in really rough shape but I plan on tackling them and bring them back to life. The 110 is not too bad other than tires but the reds need parts here and there. So be ready to hook me up if you have any 84 Big red parts.
Here are the pics ready to be unloaded.

Those actually would be really nice trikes...if they were fixed up that is. Do any of them currently run?

They seem to have most of the parts on them. 3 trikes for $500.00,
you wont find that too often up here in Ontario, Canada. Mine are keeping me out of trouble, so the wifes okay with it, and all 4 of my kids are into helping too. COOL! Even the wife said she'll help. I wont hold my breath on that one. The only oil she's gotten on her is canola oil. Make sure you take pics for before and after, so when they're done, you could sit back one day aand say, I DID IT!:beer

oooooh, that big red looks so horrible :-( it really hits home when you have the same bike and you see another one in bad condition like that, i cant wait to see it rebuilt though good luck

Well not sure if any of them run. They all shift thru gears fine but I am sure carb work needs to be done and the big reds are needing tanks or need them redone.

sounds like a deal, no sense in letting them go to the crusher, someone can have lots of fun with them hogs, (kids gradkids etc. even yourself) good luck with getting them going shouldnt be too hard, just a little tlc.

Fix one up and sell it and you got your 500 bucks back. I think it was a good deal. Had a good weekend with wife and picked up some trikes. Cant ask for much more

Yeah I am hookin up a fellow board member with the 110 and I will try to fix the reds and see what I could do with them. I know I love the 250 big reds so these are probably just as fun.

zj, you are truly infected as the rest of us. even if you don't fix'em its better than them being smashed. that would have been a total waste. so here's to ya :beer oh saver of the trike.:D

I hope to have time this weekend to "tinker" with them and see what I have gotten myself into haha. I might just rob parts off the worse red to fix the other and get it running. Then once I get it up and running, I can do the cosmetic thing to it.

From what I saw, both Reds looked very doable.

Oh any trike in my eyes are do'able no matter the condition. I like to try to keep them all together as there are enough guys on ebay parting out perfect machines.

That is exactly how I feel. That as part of the driving force I felt to rescue those. If I had the money I would have saved them myself.
