Extending swing arm ?'s

First of all my question is will a pre 86/87 swing arm fit a 86 200x? Then my next question is has any one ever extended the stock swing arm? My guess would be you could just the other on in half and weld in some extensions to your wanted length. If it is possible i understand it has to be very percise so each side is equal length and you dont get one side longer than the other and have your axle being pulled down the road at s slight angle.

good deal. How about the pre 86 fitting into an 86 does this work. I guess i really dont know if the swing arm i have sitting around what year it is from.

another question is see in the link posted the guy extended it in front of the shock mount. Is this a must or can it be done behind the shock mount?
