I have no spark, so this is what I checked. With a volt meter the stator voltage output is only 180mv dc before the CDI . The coil primary is 3.9VDC. Am I checking it properly? What are the voltage output suppose to be??????:beer

I'm assuming you're talking about your Yamaha, On the 85 YTM200ERN the manual starts by checking ohms...
Stator
Pick-up coil resistance 196 ohms + or - 10%
Charging coli resistance 381 ohms + or - 10%
Ignition coil
Primary 0.85 ohms + or - 20%
Secondary 5.9k ohms+ or - 20%
Also says to check at 68 degrees F.
Hope this helps, I'm going through the same thing on one of my 85 YTM's. I took the carb off to rebuild and now I have no spark and I can't figure it out.

The one I was asking about was for a honda 1983 atc200. My ytm is running right now. I am waiting to receive a rebuid kit from motorhead toys in ebay that I have ordered. Where did you get your rebuild kit? I'm also waiting for parts from edog. Check your wiring or your ground. You could be grounding your whole circuit.:beer

Hi Bud, How is the carb kit working out for you. What size needle jet did you receive? I'm hoping for #100. Did most of the parts fit on your carb?:beer

Everything fit except o-rings, some of those were odd sized and I couldn't figure out where they went so I got my own locally. I haven't checked the jet size yet, but it runs great on my other YTM. I bought it for the that now has no spark.
Dammit!

Sorry bud, the "D" is from the vin#. It's a 1983 ATC200 only. You said to click on the link on your signature. Could you be more specific, I'm not that good with computers. THX

Where it says "Trike Manuals" in big letters after the list of machines I have. There's a thread with a link to where you can download the Honda service manual for that machine. Very helpful to have if you don't have one already.
