200x mods

restoring a 85 200x and was wondering if anybody knows what kind of hp i will get out of this combo.wiseco 10.25 piston,web cam 89-a midrange cam,hd valve springs,3 angle valve job,xr200 carb and intake port matched,wild port and polish,and some kind of aftermarket exhaust.i have 20" holeshots on it and will get probably 13/38 gearing.thanks in advance.

i have no clue on the hp but i know it will have some nutz. i did some stuff to my s and it has nut.

Will surely have nuts. I had the piston, port work, exhaust, xr carb with clamp on k&n with stock gearing and 20 inch razrs and smoked blasters, 300exs,and wasnt for behind stock 350xs! you will have a thumper on your hands!

what about hp gain?i know it had like 14hp stock.will i gain atleast 3-4 hp?thanks

i would just use the stock gearing that will make it real snappy out of the hole + have more up top with the mods.

i wouldnt keep stock gearing on a 200x, i hated it on mine,mine has some motor work done to it to, and will stock gearing i couldnt get any top speed and while riding with my friends with there bigger quads mine was reving really high trying to keep up with them, id dropbed 2 in back and go one up in front, or at least just go one up in front, you will have enoughpower topush it around, right now i have 13/35 and it has enough power to move it preety good, i lost a little on bottom but gained alot of top end, plus while trail riding i now have like the pefect gear ratio, before 3rd was to low and 4th to high now 3rd is good

According to the calculations I made you should be at about 20 HP. That is with a 192cc motor and peak power being made a 9000 rpms, with a 10.25 Compression ratio. THere are of course many other factors so this is just a rough estimate. I am hoping to build a dyno within the next two years to be able to get raw data on the 200x motors and the mods that can be done to them.

i sent powroll a email asking what a 200x motor would put out with a stroker crank and a 12:1 piston ....my reply was that the most powerful motor they ever built put out 20hp and that the motor put out 10hp stock not sayin this is accurate just a little info

The people at powroll also say that a 200x motor fully modded runs best with the stock unmodified carb on it too. When I talked to them they are giving me numbers for the XR200 because that is the motor they deal with. The testing of their parts are what they think by the seat of their pants. I have also talked to the people at webcams and they seem to be more informative. They also make all the cams that are sold as powroll's.
