Need Help Setting Stator

I purchaced a new to me stator and am not real sure how to install it.

The boly holes are oblong, Where should I set it?

I am not getting any fire even with the new stator so I am planning on changing the cdi box (if i can find one) and the coil.

Ohh yea, it's an 82 250r.

I think this is what you're looking for. There is a notch that should line up with a notch or mark on the crankcase. Here's a photo of the service manual:
