Sharing a sad story

A few years back I restored an 85 350x. Once I had all the bugs worked out and the thing was MINT I put it up for sale. This guy came and looked at it, tried it out and loved it. After he paid me and I gave him a bill of sale he said, " I'm going to take the engine out to put it in my 250sx fourwheeler." I almost cried, if I knew that before I wouldn't have sold it to him.:(

does the guy still have the frame? maybe I can swap my 185s motor into that chasis and have a nicer suspension setup?

No idea, that was years ago and the guy was from Mass. somewhere. One things for sure I'll be more careful as to who gets the next one!;)

i am sorry for the lose man. stupid people. why would you waste a perfect motor in a quad for anyways ? i hate people like that. now if the frame and plastics were crap then i may transplant the motor into something else.

I like to think I would have said no way. Who would pay that much for a trike (assuming it wasnt cheap) to throw the motor away like that. He could have gone on ebay and gotten one a lot cheaper.

Actually....I kind of have the reverse story. A couple of years ago, I bought my 350X, only at the time, someone had put a 250X motor on it. Rode it like that for about 8 or 9 months, and it was still fun. Then, a friend of mine came up with what else but a 250X fourwheeler that someone had stuffed a 350X motor into. He only wanted 500 bucks for it and it was in great shape. I bought it on the spot. Swapped motors back that night, then sold the 250X that weekend for 1000 bucks.......Sometimes you just get lucky.:w00t:
