Does anyone know a good supplier of carb kits. Hyper parts, mr. cycle, and bike bandit only carry oem parts individually. Ive seen it on ebay but cant remember who was selling a carb kit for my 1983 ytm 200. I know its out there but I need help...:beer

Do a search on ebay, I just got one for my YTM. With shipping it was $32.00

Whatever kit you get make sure to check the set sizes, as far as I know there is not a kit out there specifically for the YTM's, the ebay sellers just assume the YFM one will be the same but the jets are different in some cases. I bought the Timberwolf kit for my 200 (same needle valve) and it is working fine, the part #'s match up between the YTM 200, 225, and YFB 250. I think I was also able to use the throttle stop screw and gaskets. I think I had to reused my old jets; luckily they don't wear out all that fast. The kit is $19.99 from denniskirk where just the needle valve is $33 from Yamaha. One thing to note is the float does not come in the kit but unless it is cracked you shouldn't need to replace it.

Thefox, that's good info, where do I find the jet sizes? I need to check mine cause i just got that kit off of ebay.

I have attached the carb. spec. page from the manual. You can also check the on-line parts diagrams. You can neglect the "have" and "should have" on the scan, that was for my dad's trike.

Hello Dave,

The only thing I can get would be the bowl gasket. Sudco part number 007-999. $3.47 each. The rest of the parts would be Yamaha dealer items.

Thanks

Have you gotten ahold of Yamaha themselves?

I went through this about 8 months ago. I found a shop that had mikuni jets and used parts from the timberwolf kit as stated above it was a pita. I'll look and see if I have a website for the jets. i love the yamaha but darn they are getting hard to find parts for now a days.

If that's the only float bowl gasket the kit comes with, it won't work on a '83 YTM200. That one year has a clamp on type of carb instead of the bolt on, and it's a good bit different.
