This is my first post and also this past week I bought my first Trike! It is somewhat of a basket case, but it will be my summer project. First of all, my question...Where do I go about locating the serial number of this machine? The guy I bought it from says it is a 1986 Tri Moto 175 2 Stroke, but I want to make sure of what I have before starting locate some missing parts. Thanks in advance for any tips. Zman

Alright, I just looked again, but I am still unable to locate it. Was it originally a sticker, metal tag, or stamped in? The number stamped into the bottom end of the motor is 20E-013245. What (if anything) does that tell me?? Thanks. Zman

Originally a sticker between the forks and gas tank on the frame on drivers side.

Well, if the sticker was there on the frame, it no longer exists. Is there anywhere else it may have been placed? Would a dealer be able to tell me exactly which year and model it is with the stamped numbers on the bottom end of the motor? Also, where do I get a service manual for this thing? Thanks. Zman

Thanks team-red-rider! The number was under a horrible repaint job that someone put on it. I found it with some sand paper to get the paint off. The number up by the forks matched then number on the bottom end motor casting. I take it that is a good thing! I am guessing I take this number to dealer and they should be able to give me some details on the machine??? What about a service manual or any type of documentation for this?

You are probably correct! I only paid $50 bucks for it, but I just couldn't pass it up. Needs a carb, pull starter assembly, and some other little stuff, but most of it is there. Gonna try to get it in 1000 pieces next week. I guess I will start with the motor and if that doesn't look disasterous, I will begin rebuild on it.

Any suggestions where to start teardown? Also, what could cost me big $ if it is found broken during teardown? thanks. Zman
