I need a new tire BAD so I'm curious what you guys run up front. I want something that will grab good but not 6 ply ;). Also can anyone tell me what the '83-'84 R front stock tire size is, I dont have my R right handy.

I have heard nothing but good about the kenda front maxx, thats what i just got fo rmy 85 R project. The front tire for the 83-84's are 23.5 X 8 X 11

I think those front max tires where out too fast. I like the Carlisle Trail Wolf. Best tire i've ever ran on a trike.

I'm with Big D. I'm running a Trail Wolf and it's fantastic.

Trail wolf on the 350x and front max on the 250r. Looks like I'm set.

I'll give you some bad. It's larger than stock and brushed the pipe(FMF) on mine at full compresson. It lasted forever and that was bad too because I thought the thing was ugly on my machine. It still had probably 80% of it's tread left when I chucked it for an original Dunlop style. They look much better.

I take it thats whats on the front of casper in your sig? I really like the look of aggressive tires but the one on my SX couldnt grab for beans so i figured I'd be a little more cautious this time

Dammit!

I prefer the stock 85-86 front tires. If you can't find a deal on an Ohtsu you can get a dunlop for reasonably cheap.

One thing I'm not sure about though is, how many ply is a front Ohtsu? I think the Dunlop is only a single ply.

I hate the look of this tire. Is it a stocker?

Stock for 83-84 250R and 83-85 200x, yeah. My R has a stock 86 R tire on it if you want to see it.

Yep. Red tire flies. Bought them a couple years ago and they still work. Just the cheapo plastic ones too.
