hey everyone, Im looking for new tires for the rear of my 250r. I'm thinking 20-11-9 by kenda brand. Most of my riding will be in fields and decent trails (no mud). I want something that I can get some spin out of when I do get in the mood to slide the thing around burms on my buddies track. What do you guys suggest ?

Also any help on sprocket and chain combo would be great. I have always used o-ring systems before but have been out of the loop for about 10 years.

I just pulled the machine out from under a tarp that was under my deck for 10 years. I'm just catching my breath now form the sight of the shape it was in and also, having to carry it to the garage didnt help. Yes the rear end was locked up tight, all 3 wheels flat and a mouse nest in my air box. To my surpise the old man got it running on the 5th kick.

Its a 1986, petty much stock except plastic. The bike really needs a compete rebuild.

I see the Claw MXR in only 18 in tires, they have a claw XCR in size 20 that look the same. I dont think I can get away with using 18 in tires.

What ever you do, DON'T buy the tires that everyone seems to put on older trikes... I can't think of the name, but I'm pretty sure they are at every TSC and SamsClub, check my post, you'll know what I'm talking about they are on my 110 and 200S, the nasty black colored one. I hear good things about Hole Shots and Titans. With respect of Chain and sprockets, I've been a renthal / sun star guy. At least, that was the combo I used on my CR250R back when I raced. I also ran plain ole roller chain, NOT o-ring, I've heard a few guys say that you can loose some HP from an o-ring chain being more heavy and what not. I don't know if that is B.S. or not, but I would replace my chain much more then the o-ring guys... Plus o-ringers last quite a long time... What ever you do, please don't go el cheapo. But good stuff, the junky crap will wear out and even do damage to things. I once tore up my front sprocket shaft (PTO maybe?) by runing cheap none hardened junk on an older XR250. Ohs well...
