Ok I picked up an 85 200x a couple of weeks ago. It was converted to a 4 wheel monster with one of those 3x4 conversion kits. So I got a rolling chassis same year 85. Now mine has a carb where the cable goes in, its square. Now the rolling chassis doesnt have a motor, but there was a carb and throttle with it. The carb thats on this one is round. I will get picks of them both when my friend brings my square one back from cleaning it for me. What or any is the difference in the carbs. Now the person I bought it from said it had an high compression cam, and pistion put in, also some head work but they couldn't remember because it was done like 8 years ago. It didnt run for 7 and started right up for me. and yes its the bike thats my avator.
I have read that there is a difference in throttle responce.

Post pics of the carbs, square sounds like a flat slide. It's probably a few mm's bigger to work with the motor mods. Stock is somethink like 24mm and round.
I don't know what advantage a flat slide has but someone will...

I found were it says 26mm on it. Yes it does sound like a flatside carb. I can't wait to get this bike out and riding. It sounds like it really had some work done to it...

i agree it does sound like a flatside. keep the flatside on it. but keep your round one as a spare.
