reserve???? how does it work???

ok i was just wondering, how does your reserve fuel work?/? where is it stored?? when i turn the petcock on my 350x, to reserve, what hppens where is the reserve fuel comming from or where is it stored, lol stupid question but how does it work????

on the petcock there are two places for the fuel to travel ..a long tube thats on...and reserve a small half moon shaped hole that lets the last little bit of fuel (like.25 galons) into the motor
