I will be installing a 84 250R set of front forks and hub on my 86 250sx. What year and model of 200X and 250R front wheels will fit this set up. Thanks

I have used just about every 200X and 250R rim and hub combo. All that seems to change is how you space the axle collars. I have had to make my own collars longer or shorter to center the hub and allow the disc to run in the center of the caliper.

I currently run an 86 250R on my SX with a 200X front end (basically the same as 84 250R) and run an 83 200X front rim and hub on the other SX with a 200X front end.

I run a 250r hub and rim on my stock 250sx front end. All you have to do is make your spacers fit so its centered. I ride, jump pull wheelies, no problems so far. I brought the axle to a machine shop and had em cut and fit the spacers.

So will a 84 200X rim fit a 84 250R hub? Are they the same? Thanks

here is for future reference and yes it appears the 83'-84' 250r will fit the '83-'85 200x.

Great chart. How can I get it without the 3WW blocking the 350X size??

I'd like to print it out.

350x size is the same on both sides. Its just the bolt pattern that comes on the douglas on the right

I got my 84 250R trees and forks today. Removed my 250sx forks and tried to side in the 250R forks. The R forks are .075 larger in Dia. so no fit. Then tried to swap the trees, stem Dia smaller and R uses cage bearings so no fit again. Now I'm screwed and hope I can find all though little ball bearings that went everywhere. Guess I should have used the 200X front end.

Thats why I went with the 'ol reliable 200x setup. If you yourself or you know someone with access to a lathe they can machine the tripple out for ya

I don't have a lathe but I do have a chisel and hammer that I can spread the tree clamps out. The clamp bolts won't line up after that so then I can drill out the bolt holes and use a bolt with a tap. I prefer the cheaper method. This 250sx ain't;) ;) too pretty anyway.

I have discovered that spreading the top triple clamp open to accept larger forks is a bad idea. It is aluminium, so it broke off. After several minutes of severe depression, I collected my thoughts and have decided to search for a replacement top clamp and have it reamed out this time.
Anybody have a top clamp for sale?

Sell your 84R forks to someone who can use them and do the 200X swap.

Boring triple clamps isn't cheap or easy.....

I got a replacement set of 250sx triples back from the machine shop yesterday. They were jig bored to accept the 250R forks. I'll be doing the installation this weekend. The machinist told me it took 2 hours to do the setup and boring. Hpefully I want run into anymore problems.
