I got a 85 xr bottom end because i was planning on building a 6 speed motor for my 200x, well i was told it was the older case.

The cylinder mounts with 4 studs and 2 bolts, not the 4 studs and one bolt.

Will the insides of the 85 fit in a 84 case? I already have a cylinder bored for my new piston and a head pro ported.

Or can i weld and tap the 85 case to fit the older cylinder and head?

Or can i fit the XR 6 speed in a 200x case?

I am kinda confused by your very first statement. "I was told it was an older case?" I know that around 83-84 ( or was it 84-85??) they put a completely different xr200r engine out that is not compatible with the 200x engine. Is that what you have? You would far easier work ahead to just simply put the 6 speed into the 200x engine but again you have to have the right one. If you have the correct engine, then everything should swap easily enough. You should be able to use all xr insides, including the cylinder without any welding, with 200x outer cases. (Forward kick). You will loose the decompression that is on the xr but I know a way around that as well.

The xr bottom inner cases with its sister 200x, and other 200s are exactly the same minus painting colors. Other then the 2 year mentioned above.

84-85 XR200 motors were RFVC and dual carb, they will not work. you need 1980-83 or 86-02 those motors were the same.

I have seen an 84 that had the head setup like mine.

I guess i have a bottom end not worth crap to me.
great.

in 84 they made a XR200R with a mono shock (thats the dual head bike one) and a xr200 dual shock (thats a single head pipe) it can get confusion with them years.
