Which front ends will change out with the 250sx? Which one is the best/easiest? Thanks for any help.

I put the front shocks, brake's,tire, rim, and hub from an 85 200x. It rides a lot better than the 250sx front end. Looks a lot better too.

If you want to swap a complete (including triples) 200x front onto an SX the steering stop on the SX has to be removed from the frame.... otherwise pretty straightforward swap.

Ok I gotta ask,

Other then looks, does putting the 200x front end really make that much difference? Ive read that it creates a lighter front end resulting in easier wheelies which I'm not that interested in lol. How about over all performance? small improvement, medium, or huge and worth every penny?

ive never done it, but hydraulic front disc brakes and better forks would do it for me.

"better forks" as in better suspension? strength? I just purchesed my first trike and it so happenes to be a 250sx so I am very interested in what i can do to improve it in any way. Providing its not a ton of work for very little in improvements.

then im the wrong one to be listening to, but the forks have more travel, hence better performing shocks...

Also you get the skinner front tire, which is a handling improvement.

Welcome to the world of trikes

For what the SX is intetended to do, the stock set up works just fine.

If I ever did do it, the reason would be for looks and the supierior disc brake.

If the forks are longer with stiffer springs it will effect the rear making it softer.

I think the stock suspension is balanced really well and it doesn't need the longer travel.

Does the X mod rake the SX out more too? If so, that's not attractive to me either.

no rake is not changed and the suspension is better. I like it alot more than the stock SX front end.

If you just got it, I'd say ride it and dont worry about mods. Once you decide what you want to do with it then mod it to fit that purpose. If I wanted to go muddin and rock crawling I'd left mine alone.. but I like to jump and run on a track that my friend built, so I did the 200X front with Progressive springs and Works rear. I also switched to 20" tires to help lower the center of gravity. Open airbox with K&N, larger main jet and a Supertrapp to help it breathe. There are internal engine mods as well but mine is stock.

Do with it what you like. Its a fine trike. :beer
