So i bought a new clarke tank for my 350x to preserve the nice honda tank. I figured i would destroy the original tank with my knees on the trails since i will ride this bike pretty hard.

My impressions - it was a *Edited**Edited**Edited**Edited**Edited* to get on over the rubber mounts in front. So it took some time, a tight fit for sure. The color obviously does not match the oem shrouds, but nice anyways. I am getting white tank shrouds this week to make it look finished.

Once on and fitted OK, i really like it, lighter, new and i don't mind slapping my knees against it. Carefree riding.

I am slowly turning this bike into the ultimate trail bike. I want to get a desert grab bar, an enduro jug to mount on handlebars, headlight guard, better front tire, etc. No rush though.

Why don't you look for some 85 plastics?

I like the white fenders. I debated the red vs white thing and white won cause i wanted to keep it an 86 look.

Absolutely did not want a white plastic tank though.

Just kind of curious as to how it will line up where it meets the rear fender with oem plastics.

mine fits good with the maiers, not sure about stockers, i can check tomorow. I was happy with it, little tight, just put some compressed air in it and it spreads right out and will slip right on. I got mine for pretty cheap compared to some places. I posted a thread about it if you want the info.

My fenders were hacked by the previous owner. From what I can tell they seem to fit pretty well.

Got mine the other day, havent installed it yet but was looking at it, and wondering if anyone has had problems with leaking around the petcock adaptor area???

I have one and I can't fit both of the rubber cushions thingys on the front mount, it is like the tank is slightly narrower then it should be. Anybody else have this problem?

My tank fits fine with both rubber cushions. It was a little tight but fits. I have never had any leaks with my petcock either.

In the instructions it says

"If the tunnel is a tight fit, turn your petcock to off and a small amount of air can be put into the tank using compressed or aspirated air. Put the air in through the gas cap vent. This will spread the tank out slightly and allow it to slip on."
