What Kind of riding are you going to be doing?

mostly midwest timbers, river riding, (sandy and rocky bottoms both) muddy backwaters lots of hillclimbs in abandon quarrys ( so im gonna want a 6 ply tire), gravel and dirt roads, streams etc. hopefully this helps.

I would go with the Kenda's 20-11-9's

yea i have a friend that has em on his 400ex and get along ok with em until we ride the river, then all he does is gets stuck in the we sand, lol my stock ohtsu's love the river, sand wont stop them, but they suck everywhere else. im not sure what im gonna go with yet, i really like the razrs, i work with a guy that has em on his 400ex and he loves em, he hated his holeshots i guess. i also would like to stay with 22 in tires vs 20in, i would like to keep stock size, i like how my bike operates now with stock gearing and stock tire size. but if there is a significant benefit please explain i may change my mind.
thanks

20's give you...

more power and better cornering since it is closer to the ground (the whole "center of gravity" thing)

you could just gear up one tooth in the front and compensate completely for the lower tire size...

Ive heard bad things about Razrs falling apart. Ive had them in the past, not long enough to fail on me though.

I like the Holeshots on my X, they were expensive because they just came out. You can get other similar holeshots for around $120 a set. Theres a lot of sand where I ride, the holeshots pull me right on through.

I've got them on the X, and the Z.

ok lemme get this right, if i go with 20in vs 22, i will giain more speed but loose low end? or vise versa, i would rather have low end rather than speed if anything.

Vise Versa. you will lose top end, and gain low end. When i went with my 21's, I thought i might regret it because of skid clearence. If you think about it, I only lose a half an inch on clearence if anything.

I ran 20'' razrs on my 350x....they worked great with out a problem. im now running 20'' turf tamers on it now and they also work without fail. the razrs hook up better in muddier conditions...but if its dry and fairly hard packed then the turf tamers are better. just my .02

I have 20" kenda Vipers and I like them. They seem like a good all around tire. A buddy of mine run's the Knarly's and he loves them. He had Holeshots before and mud was the last place you wanted to be with them. As Eric was saying 20's lower you down a little and its a little more stable. The plus side of going smaller is they will be lighter, You will be able to break them lose easier, A little more stable, also slide easier. The down side is you lose a inch of ground clearance and you need to change out a sprocket to keep stock gearing but thats 15 bucks.

Have a look at the new GNCC Holeshot! Those would be the tire I'd buy and thats not my 350X man, I've got a Tecate.

For general off-roading, the Kenda Vipers would be a great choice IMO.

The next 4-stroke I buy will either be a 200x or 350x, and I can assure you Vipers will be on it.

Just my 2 cents...I like the look of the new radial tires like the iRazr and Kenda K459?, Maxxis Suretrac, too. When I need new tires, I'm gonna try a radial. Chris
