Up and died? Maybe it killed a plug...I find the BR8ES to be the perfect plug. Did you pull the plug to look? If you changed the jetting that may be your problem.
Stock swingarm?? Those things are wheelie machines with the stock swinger, even with a +2 it claws for the sky in top gear.

what the hell digity, you were supposed to call me and let me know how things went. take it the clutch parts worked then. cool. gotta love em. died? foul the plug out? did you check to make sure your getting spark still? all that cash you just spent, that should eb the first thing you'd check. probably a loose connection or something somewheres. rip it up chief, rip it up.

Plug should be dry and tan coloured.
Digity, are those new OEM rear fenders or new Maier??

maier, its getting spark so i guess i will search deeper into the subject.i no the carb was loading up when you hit the throttle open.it was not smooth and crisp when i was riding it on the road when you got into it the thing wanted to take off like a wild stallion throttle is sticky. will fix it sometime thats for sure. it had the air box on it i took that off and put a k-n filter on it then the dg pipe and silencer so i think the carb needs some attention.

May need the floats adjusted from the sound of that.
Did you buy them new from Maier? Didn't think they sold the 86/87 stuff anymore.

Flywheel key???
I was just going to say that. When mine broke it still had spark but would not run, it would just pop. Don't waist your $ on that ev series pulg a b8es or b9es is fine.

Ok cool! Chaplin sells the OEM stuff and from that pic I can see the difference between the lighter green maier front and darker green oem rear fenders. Thanks man, disregard that PM just now. Got my answer.

Digity, The Tecate is looking sweet. I love the way it looks. Man I hope you and Scooteroo are coming to Trikefest also. If so and you hook up with us there will be 4 or 5 tecates in the Caravan. :w00t: To break up all that red and white on the trailers
Nice job, im liking the rear fender setup. You might of started a trend there. How was it getting the rear fender on?

Glad you got to take it out for a spin. It's funny that you thought it was a bit scarry, I thought the same thing about mine, but wouldn't admit it, maybe to you guys, but never my wife, she hates me hot-rodding my Tecate.
So you think ice in the fuel line starved it for fuel? I'm with Meat, hope you get to come to TF. I'm planning on bringing mine, would love to see yours there too. Love to drag them to compare the your ignition system to my stock system.
Good luck man, Chris

Yea I was going to push towad an ignition problem/ flywheels. Our tecates have them type of problems. I for one am having the same issue with our 85 T3 just dying after a good ride, plug just goes out I guess. We run the BR8ES in our T3's, and my 250R ( need a bit hotter then the 9ES) and they work great. Just them darn T3's love to burn up them plugs lol
Oh yea she's looking real sweet to bro!

Allright, what's up? 4 months to plan and now you're saying you can't make TF? You're killin me. All of you New yorkers can hook up and make the drive together. New yorks not that big. Trikefest is all about meeting the people on here and having fun, talking and riding three wheelers. No work or responsibility for one weekend. We have got to hear this excuse why you can't get away for one weekend thats four months away! That includes the both of you. I hate the excuse ( theres always next year) Sounds like the cubs fans who always make excuses, and wait til next year. Things change in a year, so lets do this NOW.

Wish I knew someone close with a PVL, like to try one out.
Getting my 85 back up and running very soon, in about 2 weeks it will be for sale. Sad to see it go. Getting some serious seat time on it before it goes.

I just read an old article on .org about the whining clutch on the KX250 and a little complaining on the 84 KXT they were testing. I personally never noticed on mine this winter- well the whole frickin thing is noisy.

My bro's 86 clutch has a strange whine (for lack of better words). I guess them kawi's are known for it. He has a stock exhaust so the engine is real quiet, that clutch sound really stands out. I never noticed it with mine.

What oil are you using in the transmission? Wonder if the oil makes the whine noticeable? I use Silkolene Medium Weight Gear Oil, made for 2-stroke trans, and I've never noticed a whine. Chris

My '84 made these sounds. It was kinda hard to hear after going to the DG head-pipe though... My complaint was the clutch engagement... Very "Grabby" compared to my other machines... Especially was a pain after swapping to a 15tooth and '85 KX ignition... I imagine the PVL is even worse for stalling...

Do you mind me asking what the problem with the quadracer was? My LT is starting to make some funny noises, so now I am curious...
