MY 82 250r piston pics.

Well guy got her apart today and well it seems like the guy lied.
It has new gaskets which are not even ruend has shiny piston and the head looks like it was HONED? Or Bored because it has a cross hatch pattern. Well onto the pics does it look like i need a bore or would some rings be fine? Let me know if ya need anymore pics. I cleaned out the pipe and silencer cause it has major oil build up, and you cant even take the baffle out the silencer to clean it because its like factory welded on. The number on the piston says (5089k) and (431m07100)

Its been bored then. Stock is 70mm Yours is at 71mm. Looks clean tho. Get someone to mic up your bore and piston and rings. Digital calibers if you have a set and you can do this yourself. Just to see if you need new rings.

Im not ganna buy it i dont have money for it. if i did i would extend that swing arm and put it on mine and keep the stock one to when i want to sell it. That one id good for parts but im sure its an easy fix to.

So whats up guys think i will be fine with some rings since its been bored?? I dont see any groves inside teh head on the walls.


Here is the gas color i just realized it was this color after i took the head off, would this color cause it to smoke out ragiously and have only enough power to hit about 10Mph? And the smoke is a thick white.http://i16.tinypic.com/42nubmw.jpg

try taking the one ring off and put it in the cylinder by itself to check the ring end gap. If you've got a feeler guage you can see if it's in spec, although I don't know the proper clearance off hand. btw, nice score!

I'd have the jug measured on account of the light grooves.
They may just hone out, but...........Oh, and the piston should be measured too.
Looks to me like it didn't get a proper warm-up, or maybe the clearance was a bit tight.
Air-cooled bikes need a bit more cylinder/piston clearance than liquids do, especially if that is a Wiseco forged piston, which it appears to be.

Im talkin abotu the back peice it seems that there is a tack weld and i cant pull the pakcking out. i took the 2 screws off and i couldent get it out.

Same with my fmf silencer. I need to clean and repack it but the plate is stuck on. I thought about just selling it on ebay for $70 or $80 and just buying a new one for $90.

Will settle for what I can get at a time tho. If you want to make a few bucks buy that thing and sell some parts to me and Russell.
Get someone to check out your cyclinder and piston for ya. If the cyclinder cleans up on a hone a engine rebuilding shop should be able to order you odd sized rings if need be so you owont have to bore yet.

I could do that but i would have to make back what i payed for it. Then i could use that swinger to extend it and put it on my 82, the one in the link is an 81 cause it has 3 bolt pattern. Hey is you guys do a list of what you need and how much you pay for them since i have no clue what there worth then maybe ill look into it.

Im thinkin 100shipped for back fender if it has no cracks. (new maeir is 177) and like 60 shipped for front (maeir is 72).
Seat like 120 shipped for seat.
Im just thinking of these prices since i couldent find these parts for sale on ebay or anywhere else so there like rare i guess. I looked them up on bikebandit there all discontinued and the prices are Around 200-250 a peice.

If you dont have the money right now for parts,maybe you could just put it back together and do a compression test to see what you have.I would dump that gas and get some good oil ,klotz or belray something 100% synthetic and mix it 40 to 1 or so .If you cant get the silencer apart blast out the expansion chamber at the car wash and leave off the silencer for a little while to see how it runs.It sounds liek that thing was ran with too much oil in it,it may be carboned up or plugged up in that silencer

Im ganna get it check out first before i put it back, i cleaned the pipe with gas flushed it out and it came out with some nice gunk, but im sure thats not what it smoked like a diesel truck and had no power. I mean its off so i will take it down to a guy i know and get his up close inspection opinion.

Im serious about this,if we got together and bought trikes and parted them out we could get the things we need and stop paying Ebay ect,,Exponant amounts for the stuff we are looking for!!
We send one guy the money for a trike thats close to them for cheap and we just split up the parts that we want and the guy keeps the rest ect..???
We would have to go by feedback and time on 3WW but it can be done!!
I know I look for trikes 24/7 and Im sure most of you guys do too,if we find one cheap,share the wealth,just an idea I had!!!!!!

Yea i think its a really cool idea but people are to scared and stuff. I mean seriously when i come on 3ww i dont hesitate to make a deal with sombody i dont as for feedback and i dont think about scammers. I mean who comes to 3ww to scame people and most people on here are older and no better.

So the thing about this is to get people kinda enough to go the extra mile and help other out while they help there selves.

To bad bigbore picked up that R i needed that swinger to extend Damn.
