1986 250r upgrade

i've heard the cr250 ignition will bolt up to the85/86 250r's is this right? and if it does what kind of performance gain do you get? also will the power valve cr250 topends fit and work on the 85/86 bottom ends?

They bolt on but are very expensive for the full system. $500+ last time I checked. The flywheel is tiny in comparison to the trike system and that alone will cause it to rev a lot faster but there's downsides to it as well. You lose your headlights for one. I'm not so sure there's a ton of benefit to it that you can't get from just running the R ignition with a lightened flywheel.

Powervalved CR top ends are not a simple bolt on mod. You can get block off plates and not use the PV but if you want to use the PV (which is the main point) you have to make some modifications in the bottom end. Check out Red Rider's home page for more info.
