Got my KX cylinder

I didn't take the time to take pics, but did want to comment on the cylinder. I don't have my KXT cylinder off to compare with, but I gotta say wow, this this has much more flow potential. The whole cylinder is practically hollow, and it's all flow. I expected to see more flow on the exhaust side, and it's definately there, but what surprised me is that there seems to be two small flow ports extra on the intake side also, I wasn't expecting to see this. Is it my poor memory or does the KX cylinder flow better on the intake side also?

The bore is really dirty with carbon build-up. I plan to clean it up. How do I tell if the bore is okay to run, or that it needs to be honed, recoated, or sleeved?

Nope, they are identical on the intake side. Have many of each. And yes it is amazing to look at the exhaust of the kx vs kxt. Make sure the rest of your engine it up to par, cuz with proper tuning they are a handful. Enjoy.

why did the KX and KXT differ so much?

KXT was detuned to be consumer friendly.
