well maintained 85 250sx bone stock. Gave her a sponge bath the other day and now the electric start is out... Battery is less than a year old and charger says it's full so I don't think that's it... Kick starts just fine.

There is no green light in neutral (when it's off)... If I run it for a while and shut it off it will glow green in neutral but disappears as soon as I try the electric starter... so it acts like it's not getting power.

Where should I start troubleshooting this?

Start by checking, and cleaning the battery cables!! make sure they are tight . at the starter as well... then check the fuse.

Check the neutral switch. It is under a cover plate on the right side of the motor. Down low kinda under the brake pedal.

The 250sx is a strange bird for starting. If the neutral switch is not grounded, it will not spark and start.
