I found this pic on the net of a 86 200x which looks like it has a 400ex seat on it, and it appears to fit pretty good. The ex seat is way more plentiful so i was wondering if someone had these 2 machines and could do a fit check for me? Let me know if you have info on this. Thanks a lot in advance.

hum, that could be to...darn, well, if someone still wants to give it a try, but after looking at it, i think you may be right...

EDIT: on second though, that cover fits pretty darn good, even if it was a 200x seat, they gotta be pretty close. Someone check this for me please!!!

The 400ex seat cover would probably go on the 86 200x seat with a little effort and trimming. But if that is the route you wanna take, some of the newer 400ex seats said honda on the sides vs,the fourtrax. We made one for a member on here, for his 250r that said Threetrax. We also did a 350x seat cover for a guy with the newer honda logo on the sides like the 400ex.We may have a nice red 400ex seat cover for sale if you want to buy it for your 200x.The seat pans themselves are far different and I dont think you could get the 400ex seat on the 200x without some major modifications.

K, thats what i was wondering, I don't even have a seat pan so thats why i was wondering if the pan would come close to fitting. Crappy 200x seats go for 40-60 on ebay, and a brand new 400ex seat can be bought for 65. But if they're majorly different, i cant do that.

Still if someone could check this out quickly, id be interested how close they are, and also if maybe the 200sx seat is close to the same, their part numbers are 2 apart and I'm thinking it might just be the latches.

The part numbers don't matter..

For instance the 350X versus the 200X 86 kickstarter is one digit apart, but entirely different. Don't let the numbers fool ya!

I'll have to look at a 400EX seat, but the front of that seat looks a little longer and thinner than a stock 86 200X.....

Thanks guys for all your help, I forgot all about the mounting posts and everything. That picture just gave me some false hope i guess.

Well, they could have simply cut the posts off....

I am not convinced that the seat in that photo is a 86 200X....

No more pictures around of that ATC are there??
