Yes. They made 200cc 250R kits back in the day and also did engine porting on regular 250R cylinders.

How do I know this R of mine is not a 200 or just a ported cylinder?? I know the obvious, take the top end apart. It runs too good to start tearing the top end apart. Is there any other markings on the jug that I can look for?

Pull the head and measure the bore. Only cost you a head gasket to find out :D

selvy's performance did lots of hop ups on Rs back in the day. That would be cool if it was a 200.

I read, they kept the stock bore, but destroked them to acheive 200cc's. Also something about milling the cylinder shorter. desleaved 200's resulted in a narrow powerband, to get the wide powerband, they were destroked and heavily ported.

I almost forgot about this untill I saw a couple older threads on the Selvy stuff. Im gonna start working on this R in a couple of weeks and need to find out if it is a 200R or just a ported jug. If I check the bore and its a 250, could it still be a 200R?

Yeah if it was destroked like previously mentioned.
