I have a question about boreing out a 200x cylinder. If I were to bore out the cylinder to .10 or .20 over and put a new piston and rings in it, would it have any more power than it did before? Would it go a little faster? Im wondering this, because I was told it wouldnt have any more power. This is going on my 185s engine with a 200x cylinder head on it. The engine is going into my 200x chassis. Let me have your answers. I want this thing to be faster than a stock 200x if thats possible. Thanx.

guess what the 200x cylinder is reall a 182 cc cylinder. that sucks but owww well. i dont know if it will give u more power but maybe if u got a high compression piston in it it definatly would.

isn't a 200x a 192cc cylinder. Thats what it says in all my manuals, otherwise it would be a 185 if it was that low of cc's idea

yeah i must have punched in the 8 instead of the 9. stupid me. but yeah it wont be much difference seeing how it will only be like 10cc

From a slight bore like that, you wont get any huge gains...but a little bit. Don't expect it to turn into a hotrod or anything though.

Get that bore and a little higher compression piston and youll be making some more power. a few simple boltons (carb, pipe, new air filter) and it will open it up a little more.

Do they make bigger size carbs that fit on the 83-85 200x? What is the stock size, 34mm?? Will it give it quite a bit more power, or just a little if a bigger one is put on? I want this thing to be able to beat a blaster. I allready know it could out jump one, but top speed and power is my main concern. Whats a good piston to get, a PRO X, or a Weisco? Beings I'm only going to bore it no more than .20 over, should I just go the .10 over, since it wont make much diffrence? I heard if you bore it out, it gets hot a lot faster too. The bigger the bore, the faster it burns up. Is that also true? Thanx again.

Do any of you know what size carb is the biggest you can go to? Does it have to be made for the 200x, or will others work?

Is a flat head piston best to get, and a racing cam? If so, what is a good brand of racing cam, and flat-head piston, and what is a recommended size? Thanks

Race fuel is only required on the 12:1 kit. The 10.5:1 will be fine on pump fuel.

Ditto. Powroll also has THREE different cams avalible for the 200X: torque, midrange, and racing. Powroll rules!!! (Except their free sticker keeps bubbling on my gas tank because its like a vinyl or something.)

Edit: Basically carbs are NOT machine specific from what I know, there are some exceptions though. My SX's previous owner used a 350X carb on it (the SX).
