Here is my contribution to youtube.com
It was back in 1997 so the camera we were using was not the best quality,
But you still get the idea.
Sixth gear pinned and lean back. Its hard to convince yourself to keep the
throttle pinned at over 50mph and head straight for the water!
We did make it all the way across a few times, but i cut and only posted the crashes.
It was easier when the water was a little bit deeper.

No one was hurt.
the bottom was a couple feet deep soft mud, the kind that sucks your boots off trying to walk in it.
The bikes ended up seriously hurt though. Wheel bearings were trashed, one of the R's sucked too much muddy water and we had to put a new crank and top end in it. I guess it was worth it because the bike is long gone but the memories are still there.

its hard isn't it..... with paddles you could keep more weight off the front and it is not as hard to keep it straight,,,, that video ROCKS ,glad to see others pushing the limits!!!!

Lets see some of the succsesfull ones. I wonder if a ski on front and paddles in the back would have done it.

I was just thinking the same thing as I was scrolling down reading all and the very next post you asked it. I'll bet that would of glided right through!:beer
That looks like a lot of fun but imagine there always is a possibility of getting hurt.
Glad to see you all got pitched in a "safe" manner and that the helmets were on.
The "shot out of a cannon" was by far my favorite.

Man that looks like a blast... Might have to try that with the YTM, bigger tires should be interesting.

Oh it is. The ytm runs out of power way to soon though... But it's the try that counts right? lol

i think this is what you guys are talking about! this and a set of paddles should keep you going for long time.
(untill you run out of water that is!)

Here is the 350x. It just didn't have enough power to stay on top of the water.
We even tried it with a set or realator rear tires. (didnt help) Seemed to make it worse. So we continued to use the R's and put the 350x on the bank to rest.
