im tired of eating dust, is it possible to raise the ratio on a shaft drive without taller tires?

It's depend of your bike.
On a yamaha 200e you can do it by using a 225 final drive. But the motor is not enough powerful to go faster.

its a kawasaki 185, the motor has plenty of extra power! 5th gear wheelies are possible!!

A 250SX rear drive in a 250ES will gain you some top speed.
