Apparently the guy is still around. Last year I bought a new jackshaft from him for my missile project. It wasn't cheap and it took forever to get here, but I almost couldn't believe my eyes when it showed up at the door one day.

Devin (250r'en+TCB) Got a couple brochures with pictures of the parts he still has and can make and sent them to me, but my scanner has been dead for ages with no way to put them on the site.

That missile "kit" has alot of stuff that is old school and a piece of cake. That "jackshaft" is a joke to make.

Yamahondaman could make a NASTY missile kit.

It's time to update that kit if you guys really want it, but what percentage of guys are even interested??????

I thought a missile kit would be cool on a dirtbike like a cr500 or one of the new 450's. That would be a riot!

Yeah, but then you'd have to modify both ends... I think the point is to use the stock ATC front and just change the rear to a single tire. It's still a chinsey kit, IMO.... But, GREAT for the day - now we have CNC :)

I would be interested in the missle kit,
BUT do they still make the rear fender for it?
If they dont, then i cant see shelling out a grand for it.
Does anybody know the availibility of the fender?

I wonder if one of the kits could be adapted to the tri-z.

I have been thinking about converting a dirtbike into a fat-tired machine. I would not be able to take apart a nice trike for the cause, but I see late '80's dirtbikes all the time that run well and need serious attention at both ends anyways(bearings, sprockets, forks, brakes, etc). Put on a trike front-end and custom made swinger/jack-shaft/hub setup...I am thinking about sacraficing my kdx250...

I wouldnt kill a trike to have a fat wheeled dirt bike...:(
I would just try to modify a dirt bike

Why not take a look at a FatCat rear end ? it uses a very similar motor to your 200x , just a thought.

Mine is on it's way to action, but not there yet. Thought I was done with the parts acquisition phase, but just realized there are a few key items I'm missing. Hope to have it done before summer!

Here's what I made several months ago... the rear fender is another front fender from the same bike... I am going to make a 200x fatass next. Shlater

I'm having trouble finding a rear axle for my 86 200X, so I thought about building a single rear wheel kit like the Missile. I have an Interceptor swingarm laying out in my garage. A little cutting & welding, maybe I could fab one up. The 200X is going to be a backup buddy ride, and I don't care how many wheels it has. I need to drag start it to see how she runs! Too cheap to buy a kick starter yet. Was going to part it, had it in pieces, then felt bad about it, and slapped it back together tonight. Carb kit ordered tonight, hopefully running next week. I have an 85 axle, and it looks like I could make it work other than the sprocket mount looks like it's going to hit the carrier. Any suggestions? Don't want to make it where it couldn't go back.

I think you ought to get the right axle in there...

Get off your wallet - j/k lol, pay 100$ or more for an axle and another 25$ to get it to you with shipping (EDIT - MY BAD!) so worst case is 150$ or so. Shop around, find a decent one and your all set.

What happened to yours? bent? or threads destroyed??

I hate quads so much I'd gladly pay 500$ for an axle to keep my trike runnin!!

I gave $250 for this 86 200X that was complete, had good plastic, but the axle was out of the rearend. I get it home, get ready to part it, feel bad about it, put it back together to find out I have an 85 axle. The guy I bought it from said it had a bent axle. I have the capabilities to straighten it, so I snatched it up. I get it home, look it over, and see it isn't bent, so I'm feeling pretty good. I have all the nuts & snap clip, but when I go to put it together, it just isn't right. After looking at pictures on bikebandit, I have an 85 axle. The guy before him must have ditched the 86 bent axle, and tried scabbing an 85. I just e-mailed him, and he said that's all he got when he bought it. So, I'm sitting on a decent trike, with no way to move yet. I know of 2 places that have a quite a few 3 wheeler parts within an hours drive, so I'll check with them. It's hard to spend $150 on an axle, when I have $250 in the whole machine. I'm hoping to find a parts bike close by, and snag one off of it.

I want it to be a "Friend's ride free" trike, like yours.

ok big question with that missle conversion kit. doesnt that just bolt right up the the original swing arm holes? so you could just swich the missle rear end for the oem one anytime you want right?

Yes it does.
