cleaning yamaha 225dx head

I just picked up a used head for my 225dx and was wondering how to clean the carbon off the valves? Everything else looks ok and also wondering how to get the bolts out of the camshaft side cover? They are phillips heads and wont budge. Thanks

I would use berrymans carb cleaner to clean the valves and I would get a 3/8 drive socket with a phillps head attachment. Put that socket on the rachet and it should bust lose. you can get a lot more leverage on the bolt with the socket versus a screw driver. Good luck Glenn Oister
