I have been lurking here for a while and have made a few posts, so I thought I would post a pic of my 87 250es. It took a LONG time to find one this clean locally but it was worth the wait. It runs Perfect. Only real issues are surface rust on the racks, seat (but not that bad) and the engine paint on the left side. I got it from the original owner. It has new Ohtsu Pro-Am 501's because the originals were dry rotted. Also had to creme coat the tank. Everything is original except for tires, handlebar grips (OEM Honda) and the Hondaline headlight grille. I have about $1400 in it but will probably never sell it. What do yall think?
Any suggestions? I really want the brushgaurd but cannot pay the 3 to 400 bucks that they go for on eGay. Seat cover is next.

Ive never ridden a 85-87 big red but i love them. I have a nice 85 sx that really is one of the best do it all trikes for general riding and having fun on. But when it comes to getting a job done theres really nothing like 85-87 big red. They were in a way luxurious, and classic, with all of the necessary pieces to work it on a job or just having fun. Not to mention all of the room they appear to have. They were truly way ahead of their time when it came to creature comforts and convenience. Keep it forever and good luck in your hunt for accessories.
Very nice looking Big Red!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for all the compliments! I never thought about the motor mounts bolts, but I will do that tomorrow. Hopefully I never have to remove them.

Check this one out....a friend of mine got it from the original owner about 1 mile from my house. I didn't think it would ever be possible to buy this. 100% original. only 3 trips on it, and those were about 30 minute rides. Still has the original oil in the motor. kicked it twice and it fired right up. 1800 bucks....:w00t:

Dam, now that's one SICK big red. Hopefully its kept under wraps for many more years, even though its gotta be enjoyed here and there. Keep an eye on the tank, you have a real beauty there. $1800 for that, my stomach is starting to turn. Love it.

 That is sweet. I wish my engine was that clean. Wanna sell that seat for 200 bucks? I need that emblem on the front fender but I am having trouble finding just that one. The guy I got it from said it blew off with a pressure washer.

very nice bikes to all that shared pics.
Big Reds kick ass thats all i rode for a long time after i graduated from my 125m
my bro and i flipped it smashed it into tons of stuff and hardly ever maintenanced it (i know hetter now) and it was always reliable, same with the 125m and same with every honda. thats why i love the red trikes! my dad should have never sold the big red especially for SO cheap. 400$ 5 years ago and he regrets it every day.

The foot pegs on the forks are for riding through deep water for long periods of time. It keeps you from getting sore from holding your feet up for so long. It does , however, make it a little harder to steer.Very nice Reds'!

I bought an 87 BIG RED from a friend last APRIL for $600 and kept it for 2 months and when I bought my 250sx I sold the BIG RED to my cousin for $600 cause all he had was an 81 110 that would only go 15 MPH no kidding. Well he had it for about 4 months and totaled it litteraly he had the thing pegged out going down a road we were driving on and did'nt stop at a stop sign at an intersection he had to go through and he side swipped a car that was going 55 MPH. When he hit the car he flew over the top of the car and landed in the oncoming lane of traffic. He did'nt get a bruise or a scratch lucky *Edited**Edited**Edited**Edited**Edited**Edited**E dited*. He jumped up off the ground and ran to the BIG RED and crunk it up and was going to try to ran until he realized that the whole front end was turned to the right! He didn't get a ticket but he had to pay $1800.00 to fix the damages on the car. I still kick my azz everytime I see pictures of how it looked before and after the wreck. Nice BIG RED's Guy's.

Sweet! I know exactly what the foot pegs mounted on the front rack are for!!
Going thru water/mud....throw your feet up there (instead on on the rack...like I've done) to keep your footsies dry! Clever idea.

Nothing like having a super nice 87 big red. I have a couple big reds and I do like the foot pegs up high like that. It makes water crossings easier.
Here is mine, with basket, brush guard and speedo.
