I'mm selling my 85 200x for $500. Do you think i would be able to find a running 250r for about the same price??? I don't care what it cosmetically looks like as long as it's ridable.

You'll have a hard time finding a decent R for under a grand.

you could find a beater for that price, but most likely is has been beaten to almost death, so you will spend twice what you paid for to fix it up over time.

this is a 1985 atc 250r that i want to sell. the bike is awsome, but the the top end went out and i took it apart to look at it and the crank was having trouble moving so i split the cases and looked at the bearings and they need replaced. i don't want to put anymore money or time in it cause i am getting out of the atv world, cause i got a baby on the way. i got alot of mods on it like a dg pipe and silencer. the pipe has only been used once. new front fork seals, also kn air filter, and other aftermarket stuff. i will consider selling it for cheaper without putting it back together, so get a hold of me it u r interested. $800 or best offer, THIS IS A GREAT BIKE IF YOU GOT SOME TIME TO GET IT BACK TOGETHER. I HAVE KICKED MANY OF BANSHEE BUTT ON IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! tkcoz@hotmail.com email me

I dont know my 85 R only costed me 450 bucks. It runs perfect and had good plastic. New chain, new sprockets, new grips and bars, obviously the guy had no idea what he had but i'm sure there are a bunch more retards like that guy. By the way my R's under a ground up rebuild hehe... don't like the stock look a whole lot.

you can find them just have to hunt. Recently a 86 250r went here in town for 250 bucks!!!

reason for selling so cheap???? the seller said that the motor smoked and must be worn out LMAO...

If you look hard you might find one out there cheap. I got mine from a guy who didn't think it could be fixed(cracked case) but with a little tig weld bingo perfect, and it cost total $200.00 with fixing it up. They are out there if you look hard.

Some of you guys are saying there's no way you can find an 85 or 86 250r for 500 bucks. Well this guy who's 250r i will be buying soon is in good shape. It ran last year and he let me ride it. He blew the motor and he said it needed to be rebuilt. The only thing that i think is wrong with it is the front fender has about a 2 inch chunk of plastic out of it and the fender is white pinkish color from fading. So it is possible to find them cheap. Sure they may need a little work but for 500 bucks you can't beat that. Most R's Tecate 3"s and TRI-Z's go for 2000 or more around here. So it is possible you just have to look real hard.
