86 200x engine cap broke :(

well the smaller of the 2 engine caps on the left side case was leaking a little oil down the case.. i thought, "oh i'll just tighten it a bit" so i spent 5 minutes digging through a box of allen wrenches and finally found one that fit!! so i put it on, turned it about 1/16 of a turn, and SNAP! the flat head part of the bolt snapped.. so i turned it out.. tried jb welding it.. didn't hold.. so i'm kind-of screwed since my father said i'm not spending another dime on it... so anyone have any ideas??

yes the smaller timing mark cover... right now its jb weld'd and i'm letting it sit a day.... i tried jb kwik and let it sit a few hours and it didn't work.. hopefully the true JB WELD will work...

jb might work but you have to have the cap tight in the hole first or it will crack

mine did the same thing. I bought a new one at petescycle. I don't remember how much but they are cheap, I think under 10 bucks. And I might have misunderstood, but you said your dad would not let you spend any more money on it. why, it's your money isn't it? juust wondering cause I owe my dad about 200.00 from all of the parts he bought me for this thing! I need a job:D

my dad used to ride his three wheeler all the time.. still has it... but for some reason, he started to hate them more and more when me and my bro got the 110 and 125m.... they were old and both cost less than 150 a piece.. and everytime they broke, he would complain for hours... i mean c'mon.. they were almost 20 years old.. they were bound to break... finally he refused to fix them at all.. and i was only 13 and didn't know anything about them.. till i found 3ww... so i bought my own 200x a few months ago, and all i've put in it (that it actually NEEDED) were rear bearings, and now this... and he hates when i spend my money cause he thinks i should save it and he is the only one with a credit card to buy off the internet... and our local dealer is total trash... so internet is my only choice for parts... i even have my own job... but he kinda regulates my internet spending...


i got both pieces out and cleaned them up.. and jb'd them.. so hopefully it'll stay!


ohh.... is the crankcase pressurized?? does it HAVE to be???
