I have been quitely working on getting this engine put back together. I thought some of you guys/gals might find the extreme you can go on the 86/87 200x engines interesting.

Too start off this engine has the compression release removed on the lower cases. dual spark plugs, oversize intake valve, machined too accept a 350x carb boot and carb, machined too accept a larger exhaust, cam was hard welded and ground for a longer duration. I've not got into the bottom end yet as I'm sure there is mods there as well.
I can't wait till I have this all put together all the 86 talk lately has got the bug going too get off my duff and finish this project.

more pics if you compare the intake ports and the exhaust ports you can see how much work that was done too this engine you can also see the awesome job they did with adding a second spark plug

nice build. what keeps it from leaking oil from aroung the new spark plug, it doesn't look like it threads in until it's past the timing chain passage?

they have a rubber plug that fits in the out side of the case after the plug is installed it leaves just enough room too get the plug wire on

So this is what we get for trying to buy your 86 parts?? LOL

Dale, thats awesome!! Someone here had just said the other day that ya couldn't mod an 86 like you could an 85. Looks like the 86/87 motor is very accepting to mods..And awesome mods at that.

Of course we all want to know how you found that motor and what you paid for it.

I had only heard of Curtis Sparks for 200X mods until now.
