Hey there guys, I have a 1986 200x that is extremely quick and powerful. The thing revs like a two stroke practically. This is the way I bought it about 8 yrs ago. Now the question. How can this machine be powerful with such low compression - even with the decomp cable disconnected. My brother has an 86 200x where the engine has strong compression when you kick it, but his is not as quick and definetly doesn't rev out like mine. Both are stock on the outside and we both think the inside. I'm thinking of piston and rings to ensure it's robust but some times you don't want to mess with a good thing. Any ideas ???

I would guess you have a modified cam in your 200x. this does wonders for these machines. I have a slightly modified cam in a motor here that used more oil than fuel but it still would out run a stock machine with a fresh rebuild
