The question is can I fit 5 83 Honda 200m's in the back of a 93 F250 with a 8 ' bed. I found a deal and got all 5 for $300, supposedly can make 2-3 nice ones and use the rest for parts. I don't want to take a trailer since the last couple of miles to where they are is 4x4 only. I think I can do it if I leave the tailgate down and bring plenty of straps, what do you think? Experience preferred and let me know how many bikes you got into the truck.

P.S. I'm not totally sure they are 200m's but they do have front racks. Is there any other model they could be?

well my dad used to stand his threewheeler on the grab bar, against the cab.. just bring a towel or something so it doesn't scratch the paint or anything.... and i'm sure you could bring a ratchet and sockets and pull a rim or two to make it fit better... just make sure you be careful about the fenders... try to make them point the way they drive.. i've heard about them cracking off, hauling em backwards.. maybe just a myth.. idn..

Ive hauled my Z backwards with its old fenders at 70+mph for 300 miles and they were fine ;)

Yes, the first goes in backwards right rear tire in the left corner of the box, the second in forwards, the third goes sideways rear wheels straddle the wheel well on the left side, front wheel on the box rail, forth in forwards front wheel under the front of the unit sideways, fifth in forwards with the front wheel on the rear rack. Thats how we used to load 5 185s / 200s on the back of a 71 3/4 ton 4X4 long box Ford I know the s is a little smaller than an M but it should still work

damn, your scoring all the good deals! if they dont have gas in them you can do what the other said and stand them on their arses.

I will get mucho pics when I pick up the bikes. Sounds like a good road trip. To all the people who are worried about the plastics they bolt on and are not going anywhere whether loaded forwards or not.

If I wanted em bad enough, I could probably get 8 in the back of a truck! Seriously though, I would stand em up against each other. Like what was posted earlier, bring some towels as the first will be against the cab, strap it down. The next against the first , strap it , and so on. I would either remove the rear tires or deflate em to get it closer to each other.

You could take a trailer,un hitch just before the 4x4 part, make 2 trips through it, then load the trailer up. Haha but if you think you can get 5 in there... i want to see!!!

its possable i had a polaris scrambler and a honda shadow in the back of a chevy 6' bed with the tail gate closed the guys at the dealership didnt see that coming just had to take the rear rim off the atv and set it on it to make room for the bike

Another way to make more fit is take the rear wheels off. You stack them in and put the tires on top.

I think with a few tools and a little work you can make them all fit.

Dido with yamahauler..... just drop your trailer when the road gets rough and make 2 trips. Better than risking standing all of them up on end while trying to go 4x4 in your truck. Play it safe.

if bringing a trailer off long island the tolls go up in price and fuel milage goes down. wanna keep this as inexpensive as possible. i like the idea of removing rear tires. do i still get to go???????????

Be careful that you don't let the grab bar go through the rear window of the truck if you do put it in backwards!

Interesting, well assuming they are all 200M's or even 200Big Reds how about this.Get 1 machine in the back, forward ...stand it up and slide it to the frt of the box with the rear tire touching the frt of the box up by the rear window...tires facing out over the box.Get the next machine in there the same the way ...stand it up and slide it up against the frt of the box sideways ,opposite the 1st machine..tank to tank I guess you could say ,with the frt tires pointing to the hevans, and tires facing outwards over the box....Follow me,each machine is @ 32" tall so if you have 64-65"'s between the bed sides your in business.Do the same on the next 2 machines, the wheel well could be an issue but you gotta get em' on there, you'll get it.So let's see now each machine should be @ 47-48"'s wide so in 8' you have 4 machines so far rite.OK the last one is easy, open up the tailgate and stand that machine up facing in and strap the crap out of it to the 2nd set of machines. If you play your card's rite you can probably get a couple set 's of tires in there too somewhere's..Never did it but it'll work,I THINK !! I'm waiting on parts too dry!!!

Absolutely! I think we can do it, just need to pick up a few more straps. I'll know what they are for sure in a day or 2 since the guy is sending me the manuals and certificates of origin.

Just picked them up this morning. They were in Grahamsville NY at a hunting camp. I didn't even have to break out tools as some of the bikes were semi apart. Turns out they are 5 1983 ATC 200. The stori I got was they were origionally U-haul rental bikes and the guy I got them from bought 14 of them from U-haul in 84 when they stopped renting them. The tanks have big caution stickers on them with skulls and crossbones about how to ride. Enjoyt the pictures and realize that besides the trikes there are 3 milkcrates of parts and extra rims, tires and fenders in the pile.

I would LOVE to reproduce the stickers so if anybody is interested let me know. On a side note I got a big thumbs up from a guy in I think a blue Toyota while I was on 17 east. Was that anyone from here?

my solution to the honda fender flying off is something very easy, drill a hole in the lope hanging down on the seat hatch past the frame, put a folding hitch pin in it. Very easy and cheap way to keepo the fenders on. It cost me abut $2. I did/do this on all my trikes. I got an Omf seat latch for my atc250r, If I didn't get one, I would still use the stock seat latch with the hitch pin in it. I did this for ~2 years ridng only mx and fenders never came off.

As far as the stickers: as long as they're not an arm and a leg I'm love one (or two).

haha, those stickers are awesome! I have a sticker shop next to my shop, if you can get a high rez photo I might be able to clean it up, it might even be easier just to make a new one in photoshop.

No damage. We just had to load and unload very carefully. You cant see it but there is some cardboard between each bike to protect the seat covers and tanks.
