ok, so I have my cracked intake with aftermarket boost bottle all kinda of BS, some one here was saying I should go with the late style 250R intake boot, and a keihin PE or PWK carb. my question is, since Im a cheap ***DO NOT TYPE AROUND THE WORD FILTERS*** and dont want to pay retail on these parts. I can get a 86-89 TRX250 Intake manifold made by moose, in either stock size, or 38-39mm carb. If that manifold bolts on to my 81 250R reed block, Im guessing I could also go with the KEIHIN PE 38mm that DG sells already set up for the trx250 87-88, so it would put me closer to proper jetting. And I figure the larger carb will work good with my 300cc kit on it right now.
Will this set up work? or will have have to go with a late model 250R intake boot, and if I do, what size carb does it accept? I can also get a 34PJ KEIHIN, and they sell the PWK, but only in 28 and 39 (the 39 says its for a LT500R, so it might be a bit too big)
