It seems my 81 250R has no plate on the front with year, model, vin. How can I go about fixing this problem and getting a plate for it. It seems if you dont have a license plate the trail patrol gets upset to say the least.

hey, in new mexico you can get a home built kind of title, motor vehicle inspects it and issues serial number and title.

Its stamped into the frame, not tagged. Its probably under a couple dozen layers of paint. Scrape around on the steering neck and you'll find it.

I always taught it was just a sticker or plate. I will have to use some stipper on it tomarrow and see if I can get a number off it. Thxs man.

For the 1981-84 Honda 250r the frame searial number is stamped on the left side of the stearing stem. That would be the shift side. Its what the manual here says.
