I don't know why the 86 200X needs one but they don't seem to last. Then everyone runs the motor without it and loosens up or snaps the kickstarter and even the shaft itself. They upped the displacement so I guess thats why....

I thought hyperparts would have them but they don't offer it. Does motionpro make one or will an XR cable come close. Does anyone have a length of a stock one or a suggestion?? Thanks :beer

isn't it still available?? I took it off of my motor, when the part that is engaged with the kicker gears broke. I bought a few of the engaging tabs. Those cable don't wear out, is the engaging tab that breaks. I find it easier start them without it, a 12:1 piston is going in mine, the cable is going back in along with a new engaging tab.

Hey SWIGIN

I don't know. I'd have to check it out. Hey bud, If I didn't say so before, I did get the 350X carb and thank you, looks like I can clean it up and use it on the SX.

DEATHMAN - I called honda and they said DC. I'll look on BB just to check...

I might have a few extra's, I have 3 extra 200x motors and parts buried in my storable, I seen some of the 200x stuff when I pulled out some stuff I got rid off: 2 yz400 dirtbikes, and a bunch of 350x stuff. I have 250r plastics, a few tripples, aircooled 250r motor, 84 250r tripples, alot of tires and that is just part of what I got. I'll get back to you about the cable, when I go through my stuff.

not exactly sure what your talking about with the "engaging tabs"... my dads 86 200x definitely has the cable worn out though.. its held on by about 4 strands of the cable, the rest snapped off...

i didn't think the 200x's would break a kickstarter shaft.. i didn't think they were supposed to kick that hard even w/o the compression release....

there is a tab in the cluth cover that grabs into the kicker gear while it turns, I had that break in 2 motors. I had noticed as they were harder to kick over and I looked to see if the cable moved and they didn't. When I replaced the cluth in one bike, I saw the tab laying in the bottom. It is there, I can't find the part # right now.
