Well here the scoop,I have a 200X chasis and am working on doing some major suspension upgrades. I am 6'1" and 225 so not bottoming out is a major concern ,and with the 200X suspension,I felt like I was riding a 110 or something.I am doing this just as a fun project ,I alredy have a 350X so before you all tell me to just get a bigger machine, remember I already have one and this is just for trails and maybe racing.. Anyways I already started chopping the 200X frame and got the 350X forks and tree on the 200x chasis, that alone makes it sit up a bit,LOL. The rear end is another story, too use the 350X swinger on the 200X chasis is not gonna be easy ,the 350 swinger would have to be cut 1"+ on each side to even be close,so I opted to go with a 200X swinger with the 350X rear shock..The shock is considerably larger compared to the stock 200X shock,2 1/2 -3" to be exact and is gonna need some modding to fit.Question: Has anyone ever done this before?? If so how?? I see that I can flip the mounts and the 350X shock will work ,and it raises the machine up about 5 " ,just in the rear.. I know it can be done ,I am just looking for some ideas and suggestions.. I can post up some pics later ,but just looking for any other ideas now!!

Yes, Muddy has a very nice 200x. He extended his 200x swinger and made a different lower mount link do get everything to bolt up. It looks sweet!:w00t:

I wouldn't say it's set up like a dirt bike. lol :wondering But, aren't dirt bikes made for MX? :D It probably wouldn't be that great of a flat tracker but it definitely loves the jumps. Looks like a trip to trikefest is in order, actually long overdue. I'm not saying that I'm this great rider I'm more of a great beer drinker, but I wouldn't be opposed to let a great rider take my rig on the track so I can get an un bias opinion. I'm going to do my best to make trikefest this year.

Great stuff Muddy, anyone who swaps parts around for better performance is someone I like!! OK, how about a way of mounting a 350X shock onto an 86 200X???

I let ya know soon, I won a mint 350X shock for my 86 200X and I'll see if I can get it on there....

Would a TRX 450r swinger work on the 200X?

Why not get an extended 200x swing arm and find another shock of the same diameter but a couple inches longer? I would think that would make it sit up pretty good and not be too much work. Honestly if you sit it up 5 inches higher its going to want to wheely like no other. The longer arm will not only put you a little higher but bring back a little stability IMO.

You bring up a good point... These swingarms are steel. A decent mig welder and some simple fabrication can fit alot of different shocks that could mount differently to fit a modified/lengthened swinger stock swinger. Most of the top shock mounts are similar and lots of shocks fit in there or just need some washers/spacers. It's just where the resevoir hose comes off the top that usually screws things up.

Honda seems to mold the Air box around the rear shock.....
